Black Corinthian Currants

Black Corinthian currants are considered Greece’s «black gold» because during the first years of the newly found Greek nation in the 19th century, they were the main export product which helped sustain the Greek economy. In ancient times currants were offered to gods, they were prescribed as a medicine for various illnesses, they were even used as money. Today currants are considered as a “superfood”; they reinforce the nervous and digestive systems, they have anticancer, antibacterial and antimicrobial use. Also, they help control the blood pressure and reduce cholesterol. And they taste like little bits of heaven!

In the legendary region of Nemea, Corinth (Greece) our family first started cultivating vineyards in 1876. Nemea’s unique soil quality and climate, in combination with our continuously growing experience in the viticulture sector, formed the basis upon which our family business has being developed ever since.
